Frank Bloomfield is Associate Professor of Neonatology at the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand. He trained in Manchester, Auckland and Toronto before returning to Auckland in 2002. He combines clinical practice at National Women's Health with a research programme into the long-term consequences of perinatal care and perturbed fetal and neonatal growth and nutrition. This research programme includes clinical studies, physiological studies and basic laboratory research. Frank is currently President of the Perinatal Society of New Zealand and President-Elect of the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand.
